It can help with the demanding lifestyles that many families have with some UK independent schools offering last-minute boarding with just 24 hours’ notice, it can really help parents who need to be away for business or other urgent commitments, or anyone trying to juggle the busy schedules of two or more siblings. Students can get the best of both worlds – a boarding experience during the week, with additional academic and co-curricular activities, and then family time at the weekends.
While full boarding (where students live on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week during term time) remains the most common boarding option, most schools offer students from Prep through to Senior the opportunity to spend weekdays at school and weekends at home.Įach school offers its own variation of a flexible boarding model, but essentially it means staying at school for anything from one to six nights a week. As families search for solutions to the challenges of busy, working lives, UK independent schools have responded with the introduction of weekly, flexi and occasional boarding. Winner, chosen at random, has 3 days to claim their prize.Comment Traditionally, boarding meant waving goodbye to your child at the beginning of term and not seeing them again until the holidays. I wasn’t sure how the clip would stay in our hair at first, but once I figured out how to set it up properly, I can now do so in a second.
The website has a great guide that shows you how to choose the best size for your hair. Small for my ponytails and medium for an updo. The extra small (2 3/4 inch) clip handled my 5-year old’s ponytail, and I found the small and medium were best for me. She loved it, and ran around showing it off! Click on the photos to see them bigger. This size worked perfectly for my 2-year old’s half-ponytail, pictured below. For example, the smallest clip, the 2-inch Flexi 8, is best for when you just want to hold a little hair, or for very fine hair. You have to think about what hair styles you’ll be using them for – pony tails, twists, etc – and take into consideration how thick your hair is. Other than deciding what style to get, picking the right size is the hardest part. They come in 6 sizes and hundreds of styles. A very unique product! They may look fragile, but Flexi 8 clips are surprisingly strong.ĭesigned to bend and flex, Flexi 8 hair clips come in a variety of different finishes and are adorned with beads, faux gem stones, and metal accents. The styles I saw on the website were nice, but the size factor is what won me over! To think that you can purchase a clip suited to your hair thickness is great! Once I actually received a set of the barrettes, I was immediately impressed by how pretty they are. The Flexi 8 comes in a variety of sizes and hundreds of ever changing styles… and uses an ingenious patented locking mechanism to secure it in your hair. The Flexi 8 is a completely unique, flexible barrette that holds thick, thin, curly, straight, fine and coarse hair.
Nothing stays in my hair very long, and it’s just not worth the trouble, know what I mean? When I read the description of a Flexi 8, though, I thought that this might be the hair clip I’ve been searching for… Since my hair is super-fine, I don’t usually wear hair accessories other than elastic bands and basic hair clips.
